Here are the best Christmas shows to see on Broadway and NYC in 2021! Christmas is both an inspiration and a celebration. It gave us numerous masterpieces, but also a lot of warmth at home and entertainment on stage.

A Christmas Carol the Musical

Charles Dickens’s timeless classic has been a staple on Broadway since musical theater’s early years. The story of Ebenezer Scrooge is adapted for the stage by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens.

The play is staged at The Players Theatre. The final performance for A Christmas Carol is scheduled for December 30.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Charlie, Lucy, and Snoopy are favorites to both young and old. And their (mis)adventures have graced the big and the small screen, as well as the stage for years.

‍Adapted from Charles M. Schulz’s timeless story, and featuring the music of Vince Guaraldi, A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage. It is a present that the whole family can enjoy. It tells the story of how the Peanut gang found out the true meaning of Christmas through a play and a puny Christmas tree.

A Charlie Brown Christmas will be at The Palladium Times Square through December 21–24.

New Jersey Ballet – The Nutcracker

Technically, not in New York, but in the wide area, just several miles away from Theater District.

The story of Clara and the Nutcracker doll are synonymous with Christmas and the holidays. And it is a double holiday because the New Jersey Ballet celebrates 50 years of The Nutcracker on its stage!

New Jersey Ballet’s Nutcracker at Mayo Performing Arts Center will feature the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. It will be under the baton of Gary S. Fagin. The run of the show will be between December 17 and 26. With two shows a day except for December 17 and 24!
